Connect your AI app
Your AI app reaches your nodes through one address:
https://app.dashcat.ai/mcpIt’s also at the top of the Nodes page in Dashcat Dashboard. Add it to your AI app as a custom connector (some apps call it a remote MCP server), then sign in with your Dashcat account when the app asks. You do this once per app, not once per node: new nodes show up by themselves.
Each app you connect is listed under Connections in Dashcat Dashboard. From there you can limit it to some nodes, or remove it.
On claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app:
- Go to Customize › Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it
Dashcatand paste the address. Leave the other settings as they are. - Choose Add, then Connect, and sign in with your Dashcat account.
The connector then works in the Claude mobile apps too. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds it under Organization settings › Connectors, and each person connects with their own Dashcat account. Free plans can add one custom connector.
claude mcp add --transport http dashcat https://app.dashcat.ai/mcpThen run /mcp in Claude Code, choose dashcat and sign in. This works in Claude Code on the
web too.
Custom connectors need a paid ChatGPT plan and developer mode:
- In Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode.
- Back in Apps & Connectors, choose Create. Name it
Dashcat, paste the address and choose OAuth for authentication. - Choose Create and sign in with your Dashcat account.
ChatGPT’s menus change often. If these names don’t match, look for adding a custom MCP connector in OpenAI’s help.
codex mcp add dashcat --url https://app.dashcat.ai/mcpcodex mcp login dashcatAdd Dashcat to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in a project):
{ "mcpServers": { "dashcat": { "url": "https://app.dashcat.ai/mcp" } }}Cursor shows Needs login beside Dashcat under Settings › MCP. Choose it to sign in.
Add Dashcat to .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace, or run MCP: Add Server from the Command
Palette:
{ "servers": { "dashcat": { "type": "http", "url": "https://app.dashcat.ai/mcp" } }}Start the server from the file or the Extensions view, and sign in when VS Code asks.
Any app that takes a remote MCP server over HTTP with OAuth sign-in works. Give it the address above. The app registers itself with Dashcat’s sign-in automatically.
Try it
Section titled “Try it”Ask your AI “which of my Dashcat nodes are online?”. It should list your nodes. Then try real work: “check for updates on reception-pc”. What your AI can do lists every tool.
If it doesn’t connect
Section titled “If it doesn’t connect”- Sign-in loops or fails: sign out of Dashcat Dashboard and try again, or remove the connector from the app and add it once more.
- No nodes listed: check the node is Online in Dashcat Dashboard, that it allows the connector (not Direct only), and that this app’s entry under Connections can work on it.
- A node you just added is missing: start a new chat, so the app asks Dashcat again.
