Your account
You sign in to Dashcat with your email address, by an emailed 6-digit code or with Google. There is no password. Your first sign-in creates your account and your Personal team, which holds your nodes, groups and plan.
Your handle
Section titled “Your handle”Your handle is your @name, such as @tom. Teammates use it to find you, and Dashcat uses it to
show who asked for something. You pick it when you first sign in, before the dashboard opens.
- It’s 3 to 30 characters long, using lowercase letters, digits and single hyphens, and it starts with a letter.
- Each handle belongs to one person or team.
@Tomand@tomare the same handle. - A few handles, such as
@adminand@support, are reserved.
To change your handle, open Settings in Dashcat Dashboard: click your name at the foot of the sidebar, or your initial at the top on a phone. Your old handle is freed straight away, so anyone can take it.
If you first signed in from your AI app, you haven’t picked a handle yet. Dashcat asks you for one the first time you open the dashboard. Your AI app works without one in the meantime.
Your name
Section titled “Your name”Your name comes from your sign-in the first time. Change it in Settings. Your teammates see it, and so does anyone joining a node to your Personal team, on the join page (“Join Tom’s account”). Later sign-ins don’t change it back.
Signing out
Section titled “Signing out”Use the sign-out button next to your name in the sidebar (on a phone, More › Sign out), or Settings › Signed-in devices, which lists every browser and Dashcat app signed in as you and can sign out any of them, or all at once. Signing out ends the dashboard sign-in only. Your nodes and AI app connections keep working. To stop an AI app, remove it on the Connections page.
