CLI reference

Most people never need these: the Dashcat app, the installers and the invite page run them for you. They’re for servers, scripted rollouts and Direct mode.

dashcat-agent runs on each node.

dashcat-agent [serve] [--no-tray] Run the agent (default), with a tray icon on a
desktop
dashcat-agent join [--hosted allow|deny] "<link>"
Join a Dashcat account with an invite link from
Dashcat Dashboard. --hosted deny keeps the Dashcat
connector out of this machine. "-" reads the
link from standard input. A running agent
connects at once, and join says whether the
node is online
dashcat-agent pair Create a one-time pairing code
dashcat-agent identity Print this node's fingerprint
dashcat-agent bridges list List paired bridges
dashcat-agent bridges revoke <name|fingerprint>
Stop trusting a bridge
dashcat-agent bridges allow|ask|deny <name|fingerprint> <action>…
Set what a bridge may do: read, screen, run,
write, control or all (see Permissions)
dashcat-agent activity [-n N] [--json] Show what your AI did on this node (see
Activity log)
dashcat-agent autostart enable|disable|status Start the agent at login, or stop doing so

dashcat-bridge runs next to your AI in Direct mode.

Notes on dashcat-bridge run:

  • Put options before the node name. Everything after the node name is part of the command, including anything that looks like an option.
  • Quote the command when it contains shell syntax: dashcat-bridge run build-box 'make test | tail'.
  • The exit code is the remote command’s. It is 1 if the command timed out, was killed by a signal, or exited with a code outside 0–255 (common for crashes on Windows).
